Vice President of Sales and Marketing based in the Chicago area. John will spearhead
ShipXpress's initiatives with key customers to drive efficiencies and empower collaboration
across their supply chains.. John is the former President & CEO of The National Industrial Transportation League (“NITL”) and also served as President of the American Society of Transportation and Logistics (“AST&L”). He led NITL through the implementation of Vision 2020 a far reaching program to expand membership and collaboration among the users and providers of transportation services. He participated in the Global Shippers Forum, an international group of shippers, in the development of common principles for the movement of international trade. He was responsible for major membership growth at NITL and AST&L. Prior to that John spent 20 years as a senior transportation executive for several companies including Weyerhaeuser Company and also 13 years in railroad marketing and sales. John is a well known industry spokesman having spoken before numerous trade, industry, and public sector audiences both here and abroad on the importance of logistics and supply chain activity to economic growth. In addition, he has testified before both Houses of Congress as well as different federal and state agencies. He is a frequent contributor to trade publications as well as the Wall Street Journal, and has spoken “Squawk Box” on CNBC on the importance of freight transportation to the nation’s economy. He has participated in numerous supply chain and logistics activities around the world and was also an on-going guest lecturer at University of Wisconsin and the University of Maryland.
